Inspite of repeated appeals and warnings
from Centre, Telangana MSOs and Cable
Operators have been reluctant to lift the ban
imposed on news channels TV9 and ABN
Andhrajyothi. Hence, Information &
Broadcasting Ministry and TRAI has served
show-cause notices to T-MSOs and Cable
Operators.
The notices informed T-MSOs and Cable
Operators have violated the TRAI and Cable
Network rules & regulations. Centre even
seeked their explanation over banning the
channels and also asked them to submit
maintenance registers within 3 days of
receiving the notices, else severe action
would be taken.
Earlier, Information & Broadcasting Ministry
Prakash Jawdekar warned the MSOs and
Cable Network of severe action if continued
the ban. However, They operators kept on
ignoring the warnings and hence the notices
were issued.
